What if I don't read music?
Knowledge of written music is not required. If you would rather learn "by ear", that is absolutely no problem!
Do I need any equipment?
For lessons all you need to bring is drum sticks. For at home you need drumsticks and a practice pad minimum. These can be purchased from a local music store. For the more serious learners, owning a drum kit is beneficial to the progression of learning. However, not absolutely essential.
Do I have to learn rudiments?
Yes! These are absolutely crucial to learning the drums. Rudiments are the bread and butter of drumming. Without them, you'll starve and eventually die.
If you're not keen to learn how to read these. You don't have to. Just memorise the pattern.
Can I sit a grade exam?
Yes! Lessons can be tailored to fit the learning requirements of being exam ready. In order to actually sit an exam... this is not something Try Drumming is currently qualified for. However, we are definitely able to set you up with a qualified Institute.
How often do I pay?
Payments are to be made on a monthly basis and paid for in advance by cash or online banking.
